Women building better communities. That's the Junior League of Pensacola.
Since 1956, the Junior League has been the driving force behind the initiatives and institutions that make our community a greater place to live. Today, our focus is on enriching the lives of the more than 3,000 foster care children and families in the Escambia and Santa Rosa County area.
The Junior League has three major on-going annual projects: Steppin' Out, Steppin' Up and Done in a Day. Each year, these programs help teach children essential life skills and make their world a brighter place. Our Steppin' Out program works with teenagers who are nearing adulthood and preparing to enter the world as independent members of the community. Our Done in a Day program assists the foster care community and its partner agencies with various requests that require focused manpower and support with projects that can be completed in one day.
Every dollar of the Junior League fundraisers directly affects the lives of children and families in our community. The Junior League of Pensacola has more than 200 members making a positive impact on children in our community every day. Our members donate over 10,000 hours of volunteer service hours each year to serve the foster care community at large. Through our three annual fundraisers including Marketbasket, Bargain Sale and Junior League cookbooks, the League raises over $125,000 annually to assist our community service projects.
Our members are dedicated to volunteerism and making a difference in the lives of others. Recognizing the great need for improvement in the foster care system, the Junior League of Pensacola has begun making strides to brighten the life of each child we are able to reach.
